This home was built in the mid 1990's. It has great bones and is in a wonderful neighborhood. The Client asked for advice before buying the home to make sure it was suited to being remodeled. The project included a large back deck addition which created beautiful indoor-outdoor living for this lake front home. The interior of the home also received a new lease on life, updating all the bathrooms, staircase, paint, flooring, lighting and all new furnishings. A crisp color palette with lots of organic materials was used throughout the home.

The outdoor dining, sundeck and living room were added to the home, creating fantastic 3 season indoor-outdoor living spaces. The dining room and living room areas are roofed and screened with the sun deck left open.

Outdoor dining and living rooms accessed from the central sundeck. Retractable screens were installed on both of the living room openings so the space can be fully connected to the sundeck when they are opened.

The outdoor living room was designed to provide lots of seating. The insect screens retract, opening the space to the sun deck in the centre of the outdoor area. Beautiful furniture add style and comfort to the space for year round enjoyment. The shutters add privacy and a sculptural element to the space.

The master bedroom looks out over the outdoor living room. The deck was designed to be approximately 2 feet lower than the floor level of the main house so you are able to look over the outdoor furniture without it blocking your view.

The outdoor dining room leads off the indoor kitchen and dining space. A built in grill area was a must have for the client. The table comfortably seats 8 with plenty of circulation space for everyone to move around with ease. A fun, contemporary tile was used around the grill area to add some visual texture to the space.

Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.

The upstairs jack and Jill bathroom for two teenage boys was done in black and white palette. Concrete look, hex shaped tiles on the floor add depth and "cool" to the space. The contemporary lights and round metal framed mirror were mounted on a shiplap wall, again adding texture and layers to the space.

One of the boys bedrooms upstairs was furnished with a leather chair and wooden framed bed. Linen fabrics for the bedding, velvet shams and a textured throw complete the layering in the space. The woven wood blinds soften and add warmth and functionality.

The bonus room is light filled and set up for hanging out. A super comfortable sectional with plush shag rug invite lounging. Oversized chess board and displayed sports memorabilia complete the space.
